"I Want to Express My Gratitude to the University Through Action"
Sangwoo Yoon, Dean of the College of Social Sciences at Dong-A University, demonstrated his love for the university by donating 10 million won to the university development fund.
Dong-A University announced on the 21st that, on the previous day, Dean Sangwoo Yoon delivered the development fund to President Haewoo Lee at the president's office on the Seunghak Campus. The donation ceremony was also attended by Hyuntae Park, Director of External and International Affairs, and Sunghyuk Park, Chief Secretary.
Dean Yoon stated, "Although it may be a bit late, I have always felt grateful to the university," and added, "I hope this donation will help strengthen the internationalization programs of the College of Social Sciences."
President Haewoo Lee responded, "It is not an easy decision for an individual professor to make. I deeply appreciate this gesture and will work to enhance the university's competitiveness and global capabilities."
Professor Sangwoo Yoon was appointed to the Department of Sociology at Dong-A University in 2011 and has served as Dean of the College of Social Sciences since June of last year, leading academic and international exchange activities. His main research areas include development sociology, industrial sociology, theories of social change, and comparative political economy of East Asia. His publications include "The Sociology of Neoliberalism and Capitalism" and, as a co-author, "Global Paradox: Challenges and Tasks in Asia."
The College of Social Sciences at Dong-A University has been expanding its foundation for international cooperation by holding an international academic conference every year, based on an academic exchange agreement with the Jiangsu Academy of Social Sciences in China. This year's conference was held on April 24 in Taizhou, China, with participation from Dong-A University faculty and local researchers.
