Kookmin University (President Jung Seungryul) announced that it held a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with Lanix Co., Ltd. (CEO Choi Seungwook) on May 15 at the Kookmin University Industry-Academic Cooperation Building. The MOU aims to foster talent through industry-academic collaboration and to promote joint projects such as the exchange of technologies related to post-quantum cryptography.
The signing ceremony was attended by Choi Seungwook, CEO of Lanix; Seo Taeseok, Vice President; Choi Sangsoo, Manager; Lee Inhyeong, Head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Group at Kookmin University; Kim Dongchan, Professor in the Department of Information Security and Cryptology; and Park Donghyun, Researcher at the Future Cryptography Design Lab. The attendees discussed step-by-step strategies and specific measures for mutual cooperation to facilitate full-scale collaboration in the future.
With this agreement, the two institutions plan to collaborate in various fields, including establishing a cooperative system between the university and industry, exchanging technologies related to post-quantum cryptography in preparation for the quantum computing era, and developing joint industry-academic-research projects with the Department of Information Security and Cryptology and the Department of Cybersecurity.
Lanix, which continues to strengthen its competitiveness in the global security market through ongoing research and development and industry-academic cooperation, is focusing on developing PQC (post-quantum cryptography) chip technology in preparation for the quantum computing era and is a leading company in the field of communication security.
At the signing ceremony, Choi Seungwook, CEO of Lanix, said, "Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is the core of next-generation security technology. Through this collaboration with Kookmin University, we expect to strengthen our research capabilities in related technologies and accelerate their practical application. Lee Inhyeong, Head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Group at Kookmin University, also stated, "With this agreement, we will nurture even more outstanding talent in the field of quantum security, which is one of our university's strengths. We will spare no effort to provide institutional support so that both institutions can benefit from more concrete and practical collaboration with Lanix."
