Discussion on Cooperation Measures with Organizations such as the China Transportation and Logistics Research Institute
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (headed by Koo Choongon, hereinafter referred to as Gwangyang FEZ Authority) announced that it carried out investment attraction activities in Beijing, China, on May 19 and 20, 2025.
This visit was part of the "Gwangyang Port Joint Marketing Project," which was promoted in cooperation with the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority. The purpose was to promote Gwangyang Port, its hinterland complexes, and the Sepung Industrial Complex to local Chinese stakeholders and to identify potential investment companies.

On May 19, the Gwangyang FEZ Authority's investment attraction team visited the Beijing China Transportation and Logistics Research Institute to introduce the competitiveness and investment infrastructure of the Gwangyang Bay Area, and to discuss establishing a cooperative system between Korean and Chinese companies.
The institute, established in 1982, is a large private organization with more than 3,000 member companies in the transportation and logistics sector. It provides policy advice on Chinese transportation and facilitates international exchanges.
On May 20, the team visited the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises to identify Chinese companies' investment demand and areas of interest in Korea, and to discuss ways to build industrial cooperation and networks with companies in the Gwangyang Bay Area.
During the meeting, they shared successful cases of foreign-invested companies and explained the Gwangyang FEZ Authority's customized investment support systems, exploring the potential for practical investment attraction.
Yoo Hyungseok, Director of the Steel and Chemical Division at the Gwangyang FEZ Authority, stated, "This investment attraction activity in Beijing was a great opportunity to promote the logistics infrastructure of Gwangyang Port and the industrial strengths of the Gwangyang Bay Area. We will continue to focus on attracting foreign investment and revitalizing the regional economy by expanding our global network."
