Daecheon Beach, the Largest on the West Coast, Opens July 5 Muchangpo Beach View / Boryeong City

Boryeong City in South Chungcheong Province has established its "Basic Plan for Beach Operation" for this summer and has begun full-scale preparations for beach management.

On May 21, the city announced that Daecheon Beach will open on July 5, and Muchangpo Beach will open on July 12. Both beaches will operate until August 24.

In particular, with 2025?2026 designated as the "Years of Visiting Chungnam," the city expects a significant increase in both domestic and international tourists. As a result, it plans to create a safe and pleasant beach environment through systematic preparations.

Daecheon Beach will operate for a total of 51 days, while Muchangpo Beach will operate for 44 days. During the operating period, up to 429 staff members per day will be assigned to Daecheon Beach, and up to 92 staff members per day will be assigned to Muchangpo Beach.

These staff members will include city officials, short-term student workers, personnel for monitoring illegal activities, and members of related organizations and groups, all responsible for ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the beaches.

The "Pet Beach," which gained great popularity last year, will also return this year.

This unique offering caters to the growing demand for travel with companion animals. It will provide information on pet-friendly businesses and accommodations, as well as special snacks exclusively for dogs.

Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "We will strictly adhere to the four operational principles of smile, kindness, cleanliness, and safety so that tourists can enjoy a comfortable and pleasant vacation." He also emphasized, "Through collaboration with related organizations and groups, we will make every effort to ensure zero water-related accidents and to create a friendly tourist destination free from excessive charges."
