Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital Achieves Medical Institution Certification for Fourth Consecutive Time

Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital announced on May 20 that it has consecutively obtained the "4th Cycle Medical Institution Certification" from the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation, which operates under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The medical institution accreditation system is designed to encourage voluntary and continuous efforts by medical institutions to improve patient safety and the quality of healthcare, thereby ensuring the provision of high-quality medical services. The Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation evaluates medical institutions and grants certification to those that meet certain standards. This system is implemented every four years, and certified institutions are allowed to use the certification mark for a period of four years.

For the 4th cycle certification, Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital underwent an on-site evaluation conducted by a team of experts from the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation over four days, from April 18 to 21 of last month. The hospital received excellent evaluations in all four areas?core value system, patient care system, organizational management system, and performance management system?covering a total of 507 items, thereby fully meeting the certification criteria.

Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital will maintain its status as a 4th cycle certified medical institution until April 10, 2029. Notably, having been designated as a certified institution for the first cycle in 2013, the second cycle in 2017, the third cycle in 2021, and now the fourth cycle, the hospital has officially demonstrated its high level of medical service and patient safety management system as a specialized ophthalmology hospital.
