The Ilsandong-gu Public Health Center in Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan), held an opening ceremony for its new building on May 20.

The event was attended by about 200 people, including Lee Donghwan, mayor of Goyang Special City, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, representatives from related organizations, and local citizens, who gathered to celebrate the new beginning of the public health center.

The ceremony began with a commemorative speech by Mayor Lee Donghwan of Goyang, followed by congratulatory remarks from key guests, a tape-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new building, and the planting of a commemorative tree.

The Ilsandong-gu Public Health Center, which completed its relocation to the new building in Baekseok-dong on April 28 and newly opened at 1100 Jungang-ro, Ilsandong-gu, consists of a main building housing the public health center and an annex that has been transformed into a mental health hub center. The total floor area is 16,125 square meters, with four floors above ground and two basement levels.

The new building is equipped with educational spaces such as an audiovisual room, a nutrition education room, and a health promotion room, enabling the systematic and professional operation of various health programs for citizens.

In addition, Ansan Park, located next to the public health center, has been utilized to create a nature-friendly healing environment. The facility is expected to serve as an open space for healthy communication and interaction for everyone.

Mayor Lee Donghwan stated, "The new Ilsandong-gu Public Health Center is more than just a building relocation; it is a major step forward to enhance the health and quality of life of our citizens. I will do my utmost to ensure that Ilsandong-gu Public Health Center becomes the nation's leading public health institution in both name and reality."
