Over 130 Members of Chungnam Medical Association Declare Support for Democratic Party Candidate Lee Jaemyung

"The Right Person to Establish Rational Medical Policies"

Over 130 members of the Chungcheongnam-do Medical Association declared their support for Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung on the 20th at the Cheonan City Hall briefing room.

Over 130 members of the Chungcheongnam-do Medical Association declared their support for Democratic Party candidate Lee Jaemyung on the 20th.

At a press conference held that day in the Cheonan City Hall briefing room, they stated, "We believe he is the right person to establish rational medical policies that involve both medical professionals and the public."

They continued, "Under the Yoon Sukyeol administration, we witnessed firsthand how easily the healthcare system can collapse and how enforcing policies while ignoring the voices of field experts can cause significant confusion and suffering."

They also pointed out, "The unilateral push for a 2,000-person increase in medical school admissions and the lack of communication have driven not only the medical community but also our entire society into deep conflict," adding, "Because of these irrational policies, we have suffered greatly both as citizens and as medical professionals."

Prior to the declaration of support, Lee Joobyung, President of the Chungnam Medical Association, delivered policy proposals to Moon Jinseok, a Member of the National Assembly and head of the Democratic Party's Chungnam Provincial Party Committee.

Moon Jinseok, Member of the National Assembly, said, "The Lee Jaemyung administration will not pursue unilateral or dogmatic medical policies," and added, "We will work to ensure that your proposals are reflected in the new government's healthcare policies."

Lee Jaegwan, Member of the National Assembly, also stated, "The Yoon Sukyeol administration has pitted medical professionals, patients, and the public against each other, which is something the government should never do," and emphasized, "We will strive to rebuild the damaged healthcare policies in a rational way through communication and cooperation."

Lee Jungmoon, Member of the National Assembly, added, "How many citizens and doctors have suffered due to the unreasonable healthcare reforms of the Yoon Sukyeol administration?" and said, "If Lee Jaemyung becomes president, he will carefully address these issues through rational communication."
