To Be Held at Jangsu Agricultural Technology Center from June 10 to 27
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province is recruiting participants for a course on "Healing Foods Using Local Agricultural Products (Temple Food Course)."
According to the county on May 20, this recruitment aims to increase the utilization and added value of local agricultural products. The program will accept 16 participants each for the morning and afternoon sessions, and individuals may enroll in both time slots if they wish.
The course will be held from June 10 to 27 at the Processing Research Laboratory of the Jangsu County Agricultural Technology Center, taking place every Tuesday and Thursday for a total of 12 sessions.
The curriculum consists of hands-on cooking classes for traditional temple foods using fresh agricultural products produced in Jangsu County, such as shiitake mushroom rice, potato Ongsimi, potato Tarakjuk, and wild greens with perilla seeds. The course aims to provide a healthy and distinctive food culture experience.
The program is open to residents of Jangsu County. Applications can be submitted until May 28 by completing the application form posted on the Jangsu County Office or Jangsu County Agricultural Technology Center websites, and submitting it either by email or in person at the Agricultural Human Resources Development Team of the Jangsu County Agricultural Technology Center.
Lee Suran, head of the Rural Support Division, said, "We expect this course to promote the consumption of local agricultural products, improve residents' health, and contribute to the preservation of traditional food culture."
