A man in his 30s who was wandering near the central headquarters of the Democratic Party of Korea while carrying a weapon was apprehended by police.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that at 11:26 a.m. on May 20, a man in his 30s was arrested in the act near the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on suspicion of carrying a weapon in a public place.
According to the police, at the time of his arrest, the man had a weapon and what is believed to be a gas-powered BB gun in his bag.
The police found the man suspicious as he was loitering about 100 meters from the headquarters, conducted a stop-and-search, and confirmed that he was carrying a weapon.
The police are investigating the man regarding the circumstances of the incident and other details.
