The inspection will cover a total of 257 locations. Among them, seven sites?including six locations where there is concern for human casualties and one site at risk of collapse?will be prioritized and inspected by May 30. The remaining 250 sites will be inspected sequentially by October 3.
The inspection team will focus on checking for risk factors such as the accumulation of debris and fallen leaves, as well as groundwater seepage on slopes. They will use a safety checklist for the rainy season to conduct systematic inspections.
Depending on the inspection results: ▲ Issues that can be addressed immediately on site will be handled promptly; ▲ If repairs are needed, simple repair and reinforcement measures will be taken to ensure safety; ▲ For facilities where significant defects are found, a detailed safety diagnosis will be conducted to identify the root cause and determine appropriate responses.
County Governor Choi Youngil stated, "As the risk of heavy rainfall and landslides increases due to recent abnormal weather patterns, proactive inspections of steep slopes are the top priority to protect the lives and property of our residents. Through this inspection, we will eliminate risk factors in advance and establish a thorough response system for the rainy season."
