"Providing Oral Examinations
and Preventive Dental Care Services"
Seo-gu, Gwangju will operate the "Visiting Elementary School Oral Health Clinic" for students at Geukrak Elementary School starting on May 21.
According to Seo-gu on May 20, this program will run at Geukrak Elementary School until July 18. Dentists and dental hygienists from the Seo-gu Public Health Center will visit the school in person to provide students with oral examinations and preventive dental care services. The same program is scheduled to be offered at Yangdong Elementary School starting in September.

Through this initiative, Seo-gu provided a total of 292 students last year with services such as oral examinations, fluoride application, and dental sealants, receiving high satisfaction from both students and parents.
In addition, Seo-gu is implementing various preventive oral health programs, including: up to 400,000 KRW in support for preventive care and treatment costs for elementary school students from households receiving basic livelihood security, near-poverty households, and families with income at or below 120% of the median through the dental home program for children from low-income families; free fluoride varnish application for children; and fluoride mouth rinse education programs for kindergartens and elementary schools.
Lee Sangyong, Head of the Public Health Administration Division, stated, "We will continue to promote oral health programs so that all children can smile confidently with healthy teeth," adding, "In particular, we will further expand visiting health services to ensure that more residents can conveniently access healthcare benefits in their daily lives."
