Jeonnam Hampyeong County announced on the 20th that it had operated a hands-on self-growth camp to support the healthy development of children from vulnerable groups.

The "Self-Growth Camp," held in Jeju Island for 2 nights and 3 days from the 14th to the 16th, was attended by 19 sixth-grade elementary school students who had completed participation in the Dream Start program.

The camp focused on providing opportunities for children to improve their social skills and explore possible career paths through a variety of on-site experiences, including Eco Land, Arboretum Theme Park, The Ma Park, Tamra Tea Culture Center, Camellia Hill, Water Circus, Aqua Planet, and a pony experience.

In particular, the county ensured the camp's uniqueness and professionalism by outsourcing its operation to an external specialized company, and prioritized the children's safety by assigning public officials and Dream Start staff as supervisors.

County Governor Lee Sangik said, "I hope that children who have had limited opportunities for experiences and visits will be able to enhance their social skills, creativity, and self-directed career development abilities through this camp," adding, "We will continue to provide generous support for the healthy growth of students."
