Special Lecture on "The Lives and Gardens of Distinguished Figures" to Be Held on May 22
Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province will invite Sung Jongsang, Professor at Seoul National University, to give a lecture on "The Lives and Gardens of Distinguished Figures" at the upcoming Jangseong Academy on May 22.

According to Jangseong County on May 20, Professor Sung graduated from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Seoul National University and received his master's and doctoral degrees in Environmental Landscape Architecture. He has served as a Presidential Advisory Committee Member for the Advancement of Architectural Culture, President of the Korean Landscape Design Research Association, and Dean of the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Seoul National University. He is currently the Director of the Environmental Planning Institute at Seoul National University.
His representative design works include Insadong-gil, the National Museum of Korea, and the Suncheonman International Garden Expo site. His publications include "Life Garden" and "Reading the Garden of Gosan Yun Seondo." In this lecture, he will introduce the lives of distinguished figures who found solace in gardens and discuss the value and significance of gardens.
Jangseong Academy is usually held on the first and third Thursdays of each month, but this special lecture will take place at 4 p.m. on May 22 at the Small Theater of the Jangseong Culture and Arts Center.
The lecture is open to the public without prior registration, and a live broadcast will be available through the county's YouTube channel. Lectures for which the speaker has agreed to share materials can be viewed again on the county's official website and YouTube channel.
