The 30th Resident Love Concert "Music Journey in the Garden" Featuring 14 Teams Including Seo Youngeun
Yeongdeungpo District (District Mayor Choi Hokwon) announced that the 2025 Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival, titled "Garden Picnic," will be held at Yeongdeungpo Park from May 23 to May 25.
The garden festival, which took its first step last May with the declaration of "Yeongdeungpo, the Garden City," will be held for the second time this year under the theme "Walking Through the Time of Green Gardens." This year's festival aims to expand gardens from simply being spaces to observe, into places where residents can communicate and experience together, offering a new time for healing.
The festival consists of three main areas: participation, culture, and exhibition. It will feature a variety of programs that allow visitors to experience the beauty and value of gardens within nature.
This year, 13 different hands-on programs that stimulate the five senses will be offered, including "moving stone painting" and "pressed flower bookmark making." In particular, on the weekend, there will be "pot making with family," as well as "one-bite garden making," where participants can create and taste gardens using flowers, herbs, and fruits. Additionally, in collaboration with the Korea Racing Authority, a "horse riding experience" will be available on the urban lawn.
Advance registration is available on the district office's website bulletin board "Our District News," and on-site registration will also be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event.
The cultural program will include the 30th Resident Love Concert and "Music Journey in the Garden," which families can enjoy together in the lush garden for three days. Fourteen teams will perform, including popular singer Seo Young-eun, Namdalli Trio, Forest, Linu, and Yoonseul. In particular, four teams of local residents and organizations selected through an open call will participate and showcase their talents.
In addition, various resident participation garden culture programs such as "Run, Garden Bus" and the "Mobile Companion Plant Clinic" will be held.
The exhibition program will feature a "popup garden" created by residents and businesses, and a "flower mosaic wall" made from bottle caps. Visitors will also be able to see a garden decorated with May flowers such as hydrangeas and alliums, which were planted together with residents during the first Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival last year. Food trucks and popup stores will be set up in the circular plaza of the venue, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Detailed schedules can be found on the district office's website bulletin board "Our District News." For inquiries regarding the Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival, please contact the Garden City Division, and for the Resident Love Concert, contact the Culture and Sports Division.
Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "This garden festival is a special opportunity to enjoy relaxation and healing as if on a picnic in a city garden," and added, "I hope you create precious memories in Yeongdeungpo, the garden city where gardens, people, and stories come together."
