According to industry sources on the 19th, the event celebrating Intel's 40th anniversary in Taiwan was held at the Le Meridien Taipei Hotel. At the event, CEO Gelsinger said, "Over the past 40 years, Intel has achieved collaboration, innovation, and shared success with Taiwan, one of the world's most dynamic technology ecosystems, centered around the x86 architecture." He added, "With the proliferation of high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) applications, computing demand has increased, and the x86 architecture has become the core foundation accelerating innovation for our customers and users."

In particular, CEO Gelsinger highlighted the achievements of the collaboration between Taiwan's technology ecosystem and Intel, emphasizing, "As we build the new Intel, we will continue to strengthen our commitment to our partners in Taiwan." He added, "Such partnerships have been the driving force behind innovations that change the world for the better, and we will continue to create excellent products that satisfy our customers and seize exciting opportunities ahead."

CEO Gelsinger served on Intel's board of directors for two years from 2022 until last year, before stepping down. He was newly appointed as Intel's CEO in March of this year. Just one month after taking office, he spoke at the 'Intel Vision' event held in Las Vegas, Nevada, stating, "Intel has fallen behind in innovation and has failed to keep up with customer demands." As a strategy to overcome this, he presented a vision to return to being a "technology-first company."

At the dinner event that day, he reportedly commented on his appointment as CEO, saying, "It was something I did not expect," but added, "If the company needs me, I will continue to work for five years, ten years, or as long as needed."
