The police have apprehended Cha Cheolnam, the suspect in the Siheung stabbing incident.
The Siheung Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that Cha Cheolnam had been urgently arrested and was being escorted on charges including murder. Cha Cheolnam is accused of killing two people earlier this month at his home in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, and injuring two others?a convenience store owner nearby and the landlord of his building?by stabbing them with a weapon on the same day.
The police had issued a public wanted notice for Cha Cheolnam and, while tracking him, apprehended him near Turtle Island in Siheung at around 7:25 p.m. on May 19. It has been reported that Cha Cheolnam has fully admitted to his crimes.
The police plan to investigate Cha Cheolnam in detail regarding the circumstances of the incident and will apply for an arrest warrant after the investigation.
