On May 19, police issued a public wanted notice for Cha Cheolnam, a 57-year-old Chinese national, as a suspect in the Siheung stabbing incident.
Cha Cheolnam is accused of killing two people at his home in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, and stabbing and injuring two others, including a convenience store owner and the building owner, with a weapon.
Cha Cheolnam is approximately 170 centimeters tall, has an average build, and is bald with a short hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a black jumper and white sneakers.
Cha Cheolnam reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle. The police plan to offer a reward to anyone who provides decisive information. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency has established an investigation headquarters led by the chief of investigations, and detectives from the Siheung Police Station and the criminal investigation unit are focusing their efforts on tracking Cha Cheolnam.
