Kim Moonsoo Appoints Ahn Cheolsoo as Direct Political Adviser to Presidential Candidate..."Absorbing Ahn's Political Assets"

On May 19, Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party presidential candidate, appointed Ahn Cheolsoo, co-chairman of the election campaign committee, as his direct political adviser.

Kim's camp confirmed to Asia Economy on the same day, "It is true that Ahn has been nominated," and explained, "The intention is to absorb the political assets and agenda that Ahn possesses." They also stated, "The candidate has continuously sought advice from Ahn regarding the fourth industrial revolution, including artificial intelligence (AI)."

This move is also seen as a gesture of respect toward Ahn, who, after joining the campaign committee, has been actively participating in Kim's election campaign.

On the same day, Ahn posted on his social networking service (SNS), "Now we must truly become 'one team,'" urging former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon, former Daegu mayor Hong Junpyo, and former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo to join the campaign committee. He also addressed Lee Junseok, the Reform Party presidential candidate, saying, "Candidate Lee, please shout it out. 'Avengers Assemble!'" and called for joining forces to "stop Lee Jaemyung Thanos together."
