Strengthening Unity through "Sangmyung's Resonance"
The Sangmyung University Alumni Association successfully held the "Sangmyung's Resonance: Singing the 60th Anniversary," an alumni concert celebrating the 60th anniversary of Sangmyung University's founding, on May 17.
Sponsored by the Sangmyung Foundation and Sangmyung University, this event was organized in a concert format to commemorate the 60-year history of Sangmyung University as it aspires to become a world-class institution. The event aimed to transform the achievements of Sangmyung alumni, who have distinguished themselves in various fields of society, into a resonant celebration, making the university more familiar and approachable to the public as well as to alumni. The program was filled with performances by Sangmyung alumni and individuals from all walks of life who have connections with the university, further elevating the event's prestige.
The event was attended by Lee Junghyun, President of the Sangmyung University Alumni Association; Yoo Geunhye, Chairperson of the Sangmyung Foundation; and Hong Seongtae, President of Sangmyung University.
The celebration began with a congratulatory opening performance by baritone Kim Dongkyu and soprano Shindella, followed by a performance by the 60th Anniversary Alumni Choir, a collaboration by the Sangmyung University String Ensemble, the university orchestra's festival overture, and a variety of performances including musicals and operas by the Sangmyung University Dance Company and Choir, showcasing the university's outstanding artistic capabilities.
Yoo Geunhye, Chairperson of the Sangmyung Foundation, stated, "In a rapidly changing world, pride in our university, as well as the affection and encouragement of our alumni, will serve as an endless driving force for Sangmyung's development." She added, "I hope this 60th anniversary alumni concert will be a time for many alumni to celebrate together."
