Chung-Ang University announced on May 20 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for joint research and cooperation in cyber security focused on the virtual asset sector with RaonSecure, an IT security and authentication platform, Bithumb, a virtual asset platform, and KB Kookmin Bank.

Through this agreement, the institutions will cooperate on joint research for tracking and analyzing virtual assets, the establishment and operation of dedicated research organizations, the development of educational programs to nurture advanced security talent, and the expansion of academic and personnel exchanges.
Specifically, they plan to establish a joint research institute among the private sector, government, and academia to achieve tangible research outcomes such as developing security technologies to counter virtual asset theft, and to support the cultivation of specialized advanced talent through these efforts.
Furthermore, by advancing technologies for tracking and analyzing virtual assets and strengthening technical cooperation, they aim to substantially enhance South Korea's cyber security capabilities.
Yoon, the Third Deputy Director, encouraged the initiative by stating, "The top-level cooperation among the private sector, government, and academia promised today will serve as a model case for further strengthening our nation's cyber security, and the government will provide its full support."
President Park emphasized, "The private sector, government, and academia must collaborate to nurture advanced security talent and strengthen technical response capabilities."
Meanwhile, on April 21, Chung-Ang University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Intelligence Service for joint research and cooperation in new technologies, including the virtual asset sector.
