Jeostem is a specialized equipment company that provides yield improvement solutions for advanced industries such as semiconductors, displays, secondary batteries, and solar power. The company possesses technology that reduces defect rates by controlling humidity inside FOUPs (Front Opening Unified Pods) for wafer transport in semiconductor processes from the conventional 45% to below 1%. Its main product, N2LPM, holds over 80% of the global market share. In 2023, Jeostem was selected as the top research institution by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and last year, it received the Jang Youngsil Award, the highest honor in the field of research and development.
Recently, Jeostem purchased 5,250 pyeong of industrial land in the 2nd Yongin Technovalley industrial complex. The company plans to invest a total of 92 billion KRW by 2027 to build a new headquarters that will include a four-story building with a total floor area of 15,000 pyeong, featuring production infrastructure, research labs, and welfare facilities.
It was reported that Jeostem's investment was discussed during Yongin City's follow-up consultations with companies that participated in "Semicon Korea" last February, where the city offered consulting on new investments and settlement issues. The city identified Jeostem's intention to invest, as the company had been struggling to secure new expansion sites, and actively attracted the company by providing administrative support for site analysis through its one-stop corporate investment service.
The 2nd Yongin Technovalley, where Jeostem's new integrated headquarters will be located, is an industrial complex under development with a total area of 272,959 square meters. The project is being carried out by 2nd Yongin Technovalley, a special purpose company (SPC) jointly established by Hanwha Solutions, Yongin Urban Corporation, Hanwha Construction Division, and Korea Development Bank.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "We will continue to provide full administrative support throughout every step, from investment consultations to final decisions, so that more excellent companies can come to Yongin and achieve outstanding results."
