Analysis of the Importance of Electrode Placement in Electrical Stimulation for Promoting Wound Healing
Soonchunhyang University announced on May 19 that Kim Suhyeok, a master's student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, received the 'Outstanding Paper Grand Prize' at the 65th Annual Conference of the Korean Society of Medical and Biological Engineering.
Kim Suhyeok presented research findings on the topic "The Importance of Electrode Placement in Electrical Stimulation for Promoting Wound Healing," analyzing how the positioning of electrodes used in electrical stimulation therapy affects wound recovery.
This research was conducted under the guidance of Professor Park Eunkyung in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Hanyang University, and data was collected through both animal experiments and computer simulations.
Kim Suhyeok stated, "The academic foundation and interdisciplinary education I have built up through my undergraduate and graduate studies served as the basis for this award."
Advising professor Park Eunkyung commented, "This award once again demonstrates the research competitiveness and academic contributions of the Department of Biomedical Engineering to the outside world," adding, "We will continue to create social value through advanced biomedical engineering research."
Meanwhile, the conference was held from May 8 to May 10 at the Lotte Hotel in Jungmun, Jeju, with more than 1,200 participants from 14 divisions, including Biometric Measurement and Neuroengineering, sharing a variety of achievements.
