"We Will Unite for an Overwhelming Victory in the Presidential Election"
The Chungnam provincial chapters of the Democratic Party of Korea, the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, the Progressive Party, and the Basic Income Party, together with the Gwangjang Presidential Election Chungnam Solidarity, have officially declared their support for Democratic Party candidate Lee Jaemyung in the presidential election scheduled for June 3.
On May 19, they held a press conference at the Cheonan City Hall briefing room and stated, "We will unite for an overwhelming victory in the presidential election."
Lee Yonggil, representative of the Gwangjang Presidential Election Chungnam Solidarity, said, "The movement to oust the Yoon Sukyeol administration in Chungnam began with issues such as the Fukushima contaminated water problem and the appointment of New Right figures," and added, "We will strive for Lee Jaemyung's overwhelming victory to eradicate the forces of insurrection and restore democracy."
They cited the normalization of government, political reform, and social reform as reasons for their support.
Moon Jinseok, head of the Chungnam provincial chapter of the Democratic Party, said, "We will ensure that the power of the public square, the citizens, and the responsibility of political parties are united," and added, "Together with candidate Lee Jaemyung, we will do our utmost to stabilize people's livelihoods and the economy."
