On May 18, the Incheon Metropolitan Government attended the "34th Acacia Viewing Festival" held in Dalian, China, and signed a strategic business agreement with the city of Dalian for the development of the cruise industry.
The agreement was established to strengthen cruise marketing between Incheon and Dalian, expand the attraction of tourists, and revitalize the local economy. The signing ceremony took place during the East Asia Culture City Conference hosted by Dalian, and was attended by Dongwoo Lee, Director of the Incheon Maritime and Aviation Bureau, and Shen Meina, Director of the Dalian Culture and Tourism Bureau.
Both sides plan to strengthen administrative and marketing support necessary to attract cruise ships between Incheon and Dalian, and to seek long-term cooperation measures to open the cruise route.

The city aims to attract more than 10 cruise voyages departing from Dalian, with a goal of bringing 20,000 tourists to Incheon. Through this, Incheon expects an economic impact of approximately 5.4 billion KRW on the local economy, and plans to enhance its image as a global city by promoting international cooperation with Dalian.
An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Government stated, "This agreement with Dalian, one of China's leading port cities and a sister city of Incheon, will serve as an important opportunity not only for the cruise industry but also to strengthen Incheon's global tourism competitiveness." The official added, "Based on continued maritime and cruise tourism cooperation between Korea and China, we will ensure that Incheon establishes itself as a leading maritime tourism hub city in Northeast Asia."
