Umi Hope Foundation Awards 300 Million Won in Scholarships to 50 University Students from Industrial Accident and Low-Income Families

Blue Lighthouse Donation Scholarship Award Ceremony Held

Umi Hope Foundation recently announced on the 19th that it held the 'Blue Lighthouse Umi Hope Foundation Donation Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony' in collaboration with the Korea Student Aid Foundation.

The Blue Lighthouse Umi Hope Foundation Donation Scholarship is a scholarship program that provides living and housing expenses to university students from families of industrial accident victims and low-income single-person households. This year, a total of 300 million won will be awarded, with 5 million won granted to each of 50 university students. This is the second year of the program, following last year.

Umi Hope Foundation is a public interest corporation established by Umi Construction in 2006. The foundation is engaged in social contribution projects aimed at addressing gaps in education and welfare.

The foundation runs a variety of programs to fill social voids, including the 'Heroes Family Program' in cooperation with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, which supports children of soldiers and police officers killed or injured in the line of duty; 'Umi Dream Finder,' which helps children from multicultural and industrial accident-affected families explore career paths; and 'Umi DaDream DaIrum (U.D.D.),' a care and basic education project for preschool children from multicultural families.

Secretary General Chunseok Lee stated, "I hope this scholarship will serve as a stepping stone of hope for young people who continue to pursue their dreams without giving up, even in difficult circumstances," and added, "We will continue to support them on their journey so they can realize those dreams."
