M Plus "Continued Order Growth... 1 Trillion KRW Production Capacity by 2027"

M Plus, a Leading Secondary Battery Assembly Equipment Company
Strengthening Its Foothold in the Global Battery Equipment Market

M Plus "Continued Order Growth... 1 Trillion KRW Production Capacity by 2027"

M Plus is strengthening its efforts to penetrate the global battery market by advancing its technology and expanding its business, even as the market chasm continues to persist.

As a first-generation company specializing in secondary battery assembly equipment, M Plus has built top-tier competitiveness in the industry over the past 22 years in areas such as proprietary technology, equipment efficiency, product lineup, and supply track record. The company holds over 140 patents, possesses the capability to supply full-line equipment that covers the entire assembly process, and achieves equipment efficiency (OEE) levels of 85-90%. To date, it has supplied equipment to more than 80 mass production lines.

Last year, M Plus recorded consolidated sales of 128.7 billion KRW and operating profit of 10.1 billion KRW, maintaining profitability for the second consecutive year following 2023. The company began delivering prismatic battery assembly equipment to the United States, Europe, and Korea in 2021, and in 2024 and 2025, it secured consecutive orders for all-solid-state battery pilot lines from major corporations in the United States and Korea.

The company attributes its two consecutive years of profitability to fundamental technological superiority, which enabled cost reduction, as well as the ability to secure high-margin project orders. M Plus has secured cost competitiveness through process management technology and technological innovation based on extensive manufacturing experience and project management capabilities. The company actively undertook high-margin projects for venture cell companies in the United States and Europe, which boosted profitability. In addition, maintenance revenue from equipment supplied worldwide has provided a stable sales foundation.

M Plus, which is transitioning from a company specializing in secondary battery assembly equipment to a comprehensive manufacturer of secondary battery production equipment that covers electrode and pack processes, plans to pursue mid- to long-term growth by focusing on two pillars: technological advancement and entry into new markets. The company aims for more than 50% compound annual growth through 2028 and intends to establish global competitiveness not only in assembly equipment, but also in electrode and pack process equipment for secondary battery manufacturing.

M Plus has enhanced the performance of its core products, achieving ultra-high-speed and high-precision competitiveness. Its flagship 600PPM ultra-high-speed notching equipment provides a 70% reduction in capital expenditure (CAPEX) and a 30% reduction in operating expenditure (OPEX). The electrode automatic supply equipment utilizing AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) can reduce equipment downtime for electrode replacement to within 14 seconds, maximizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The stacking equipment also boasts industry-leading stacking speeds of 0.35 to 0.40 seconds or less.

M Plus is also expanding its business structure from assembly process-centered operations to include electrode and pack processes. In particular, the company is accelerating its entry into the electrode sector by developing next-generation dry electrode process equipment such as dry coaters and roll presses, while also strengthening its pack process technology with equipment such as Cell to Pack (CTP) systems. From a production environment perspective, the company has secured next-generation manufacturing infrastructure, including dry rooms and electrode rooms.

M Plus is simultaneously pursuing a technology leadership strategy to prepare for the era of all-solid-state batteries. The company has already secured full-process technology for all-solid-state batteries, including notching, stacking, stack pressing, tab welding, and packaging, and is strengthening its technological competitiveness with equipment such as ultra-high-pressure hot press machines and multi-stage roll press machines, which serve as alternatives to warm isostatic press (WIP) systems.

In line with business expansion, the company is also reinforcing its production infrastructure. In addition to its currently operating Cheongju Plant 1 (2,483m²) and Cheongju Plant 2 (23,550m²), M Plus is pursuing the construction of a new plant (50,012m²). Once all three plants are operational, production capacity (CAPA) is expected to triple compared to current levels.

Kim Jongseong, CEO of M Plus, stated, "Based on our unrivaled technological capabilities and global supply track record in assembly equipment, M Plus is expanding its lineup to include dry electrode and pack processes, thereby strengthening our ability to respond to orders for the entire production process. Through securing full-process technology for all-solid-state batteries, developing ultra-high-speed and high-efficiency electrode equipment, and investing in new plants, we will build a 1 trillion KRW CAPA infrastructure by 2027 and achieve targets of 1 trillion KRW in sales and 1 trillion KRW in corporate value by 2030."
