Mokwon University has been selected for the "On-site School Consulting Project" for the second consecutive year.

On May 19, Mokwon University announced that it has been chosen as the operating institution for the "2025 On-site School Consulting Project," organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. The university will receive 1.8 billion won in project funding.

This project is a nationwide initiative aimed at providing customized education using artificial intelligence (AI) for elementary, middle, and high schools across the country, and at strengthening creativity, convergence competency, critical thinking, and character.

Last year, Mokwon University received a budget of 3.1 billion won and implemented the project for 138 schools nationwide, achieving excellent results such as a satisfaction score of 4.81 out of 5 for training programs and 4.78 for training operations.

This year, the university has fully introduced a digital classroom innovation platform, establishing a system in which teachers can continue to utilize AI-based tools in actual classes even after the training is completed.

In addition, premium accounts for generative AI ChatGPT will be provided, enabling teachers to independently design and practice lessons even after the training ends.

Along with Mokwon University, Chuncheon National University of Education and ToBeUnicorn Co., Ltd. are participating as partner institutions in this year's project. Together, they plan to implement field-oriented educational models at approximately 130 schools nationwide, including: programs based on AI Digital Textbook (AIDT), school-customized training led by master teachers, and specialized courses for special schools such as multicultural and vocational high schools.

In particular, the project will expand training content that combines the latest teaching methods and digital technologies, such as flipped learning, problem-based learning (PBL), hands-on activities, experiential learning, and class demonstrations, to effectively support teacher-led classroom innovation.

Jeon Youngju, Dean of the College of Education at Mokwon University and head of the project, stated, "This year, we will focus on building a sustainable and self-reliant AI education ecosystem based on last year's achievements," adding, "We aim to make this project not just a simple training initiative, but a catalyst for change in schools."

President Lee Heehak said, "Being selected as the operating institution for the second consecutive year reaffirms Mokwon University's capabilities in digital education innovation," and added, "We will strive to lead the future of education in Korea and to establish global standards for AI education."
