On May 19, Gwangju Bukgu District announced that it will operate a variety of participatory cultural programs at "Street of Hope," a youth culture-specialized space, to transform it into a stay-and-experience-type tourist destination.

"Street of Hope" is a space created in the Samgak and Ilgok-dong area, where 17 schools are concentrated. Bukgu District has prepared various content to establish this place not as a one-time visit site, but as an experience-oriented tourist attraction centered on youth.

There are three programs: ▲Shout the HOPE ▲A Happy Meal, Dreaming Chef ▲"Hopjigi" Dreaming on Street of Hope.

"Shout the HOPE" will be held in the form of a dance challenge, including random play dance and busking performances by local middle and high school dance clubs. It is scheduled to be held four times from May 24 through September. On August 30, there will also be a joint audition by entertainment agencies with the participation of about 100 aspiring idols from across the country.

The cooking experience program, "A Happy Meal, Dreaming Chef," will be held eight times at the Namdo Local Food Museum until November. It offers ordinary citizens, including foreigners, the opportunity to make and taste a variety of K-food menus together with culinary experts.

In addition, to promote Street of Hope, the district will also operate a youth ambassador group called "Hopjigi." Ten local youths interested in dance and social media promotion will be selected to receive training in content production and participate in field trips, after which those who complete the program will be appointed as "Hopjigi."

Until November, "Hopjigi" members will experience key spaces of Street of Hope and create and promote related content on social media. Citizens wishing to participate in the programs can contact the Sports and Tourism Division of Bukgu District Office.

District Mayor Moon In said, "Following the establishment of infrastructure for Street of Hope, this year we plan to focus on expanding content," and added, "We will actively promote various programs so that it can become a leading cultural tourism destination representing Gwangju."
