Han Byungjun, Chairman of the Korea Information Industry Cooperative, Appointed as Committee Chair
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 19th that it has launched the 'Digital Transformation Committee' at its headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
The Digital Transformation Committee was newly established to gather feedback from the field regarding the digital transformation of SMEs, provide consulting support to offer practical assistance, and draw government support through policy proposals.
On this day, a total of 20 members were appointed to the committee, including Han Byungjun, Chairman of the Korea Information Industry Cooperative, who will serve as the committee chair; 11 representatives from various SME sectors; 4 experts including the Dean of the Graduate School of Security at Chung-Ang University; and 5 officials from supporting organizations, such as Lee Kyungrok, Head of the SW Future Division at the National IT Industry Promotion Agency.
Subsequently, discussions were held on future committee operation plans, as well as on the following topics: models to promote the adoption and transformation of digital technologies by SMEs; measures to enhance data utilization capabilities; and strategies to strengthen information security in digital environments.
Chairman Han Byungjun stated, "As digital transformation has become a necessity rather than a choice, and both ruling and opposition parties have discussed digital transformation in the recent presidential election, I believe now is the right time to promote the digital transformation of SMEs and connect on-site challenges to policy proposals." He added, "Based on the matters discussed to vitalize digital transformation, we will focus all our efforts on supporting SMEs."
