Dobong-gu Achieves 'Top Grade' in Manifesto Pledge Implementation Evaluation for Third Consecutive Year

As of Q4 2024, implementation rate reaches 62%, significantly exceeding the national district average
High marks in five areas including pledge fulfillment and achievement of 2024 goals
Major accomplishments last year, such as confirmation of full undergrounding of GTX-C Line in Dobong-gu

Dobong-gu in Seoul (Mayor Oh Unseok) has received the highest grade (SA) in the "2025 8th Term Nationwide Basic Local Government Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters. This marks the third consecutive year the district has received this award.

This evaluation covered 226 basic local governments nationwide. Five areas were assessed: pledge implementation, achievement of 2024 goals, resident communication, web communication, and consistency.

The district received high marks in all areas, earning the top grade of 'SA' among the six grades: SA, A, B, C, D, and F.

As of the fourth quarter of 2024, the district has implemented 62% of all pledges made during the 8th term. This is approximately 9% higher than the national average implementation rate for local districts, which stands at 53.05%.

Currently, the district is actively pursuing a total of 50 pledge projects across five areas: a vibrant and mutually prosperous economic city, a safe and healthy city of happiness, a balanced and conveniently connected transportation city, a high-quality educational and cultural city, and a transparent and innovative city of clean administration.

Last year, the district fulfilled major pledges such as the "Full Undergrounding of the GTX-C Line in Dobong-gu." Additional achievements include the creation of the Musugol Ecological Healing and Meditation Forest, expansion of multipurpose sports facilities, and the development of more Seoul-style kids cafes.

The district has also shown notable results in key pledges. For the Seoul Arena Complex Cultural Facility construction pledge, the district ensured the project proceeded as planned. For the early commencement and promotion of the Ui-Banghak Line extension, the district changed the construction promotion method from competitive bidding to private contracts, thereby shortening the project start time.

In the pledge to improve the environment around Banghak Station, the district established a foundation for rapid project progress by signing a business agreement with Korea Railroad Corporation.

Oh Unseok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, "Major pledge projects are proceeding smoothly as planned. I believe this is the result of personally engaging with residents and working together with staff on the ground over the past three years," adding, "We will continue to successfully advance major projects to meet the expectations of our residents and accelerate regional development."
