[Click e-Stock] "Genian to Benefit from Telecom Hacking and Cybersecurity in the AI Era"

Yuanta Securities stated on May 19 that there are multiple factors expected to drive performance improvement for Genian.

Kwon Myungjun, a researcher at Yuanta Securities, explained, "In relation to the recent hacking of domestic telecommunications companies, the government sent an official cooperation letter on May 8 requesting over 6,000 organizations in Korea?including those in manufacturing, energy, telecommunications, finance, and cultural content sectors?to strengthen their cyber threat response posture."

He continued, "Companies are expected to expand their internal security system checks and enhance their security systems. Genian is likely to benefit from this, as it is the leading domestic provider in both NAC and EDR."

Additionally, he emphasized, "The government is expected to announce a cyber security strategy for the era of artificial intelligence (AI) in the second half of this year. Given that the purpose of the on-site cyber security inspection conducted on May 3 was to discuss ways to strengthen companies' security capabilities, it is highly likely that more concrete and strengthened policies will be introduced compared to the past."

Kwon noted, "Recently, the final selection of operators for 18 pilot projects introducing zero trust was completed. Genian was awarded and carried out a pilot project last year, obtained CC certification, and is now seeking registration with the Public Procurement Service." He added, "Genian could also benefit from the expansion of zero trust adoption in Korea."
