Mayor Kim Mikyung:
"We Will Faithfully Implement Pledge Projects Without Delay"
On May 19, Eunpyeong District in Seoul announced that it had achieved the highest grade (SA) for the sixth consecutive year in the "2025 8th Popularly Elected Local Government Heads' Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Assessment" conducted by the Korea Manifesto Center.
This assessment evaluated 226 basic local governments nationwide based on five criteria: completion of pledge implementation, achievement of goals, communication with residents, web-based communication, and consistency of pledges.
Local governments that scored 87 points or higher out of a total of 100 received the highest grade (SA), while those scoring 83 points or higher received the excellent grade (A). Out of the 226 basic local governments nationwide, a total of 89, including Eunpyeong District, received the highest grade.
The district is currently pursuing 70 detailed projects across five major sectors as part of its 8th popularly elected administration pledges. Key initiatives include establishing Eunpyeong as a new economic and transportation hub, making Eunpyeong a desirable place for everyone to live, creating a child-friendly environment, fostering an inclusive community, and promoting Eunpyeong as a leading city of culture and the arts.
In addition, the district is implementing annual plans to build infrastructure such as railways and roads (social overhead capital, SOC), provide customized lifelong education for each age group, deliver welfare services for marginalized groups, and promote residents' health and culture.
Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, stated, "Achieving the highest grade this time is thanks to the public officials who have quietly fulfilled their promises to residents despite challenging financial conditions, as well as to the residents who have always shown interest and offered advice. Moving forward, we will continue to faithfully implement the 8th administration's pledge projects based on communication with residents, and vigorously leap forward to make Eunpyeong the center of tomorrow and a district of transformation."
