Hanjin and NongHyup Have Carried Out Win-Win Initiatives Since 2008
Hanjin announced on May 18 that, on May 14, it conducted an "Employee Volunteer Farm Work" activity at an apple farm in Papyeong-myeon, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, together with the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NongHyup).
On site that day, more than 60 employees from both companies, including Cho Hyunmin, President of Hanjin, and Ji Junseop, Vice President of NongHyup, participated to help with spring crop cultivation work.
Since 2008, Hanjin has engaged in mutually beneficial activities for rural communities and farmers by signing a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NongHyup. Since 2017, Hanjin has operated the NongHyup parcel delivery business, enhancing convenience for farmers and reducing agricultural logistics costs, thereby contributing to increased rural income. In addition, since 2018, Hanjin has visited rural areas across the country every year to volunteer and help with farm work.
A Hanjin representative said, "It is especially meaningful to be able to support farms struggling with labor shortages during the busy farming season," and added, "We will continue to fulfill various social responsibilities in cooperation with NongHyup to support rural communities and farmers."
