From May 14 to May 16, Gumi City dispatched the "2025 Gumi City Agro-Food Trade Mission" to Singapore for three days, engaging in various export support activities such as export consultations with local buyers and assistance with entering local distribution networks.

Seven local agro-food companies participated in this trade mission, offering products such as frozen gimbap, webfoot octopus, melon bread, tteokbokki, macarons, and Makgeolli.

Singapore is the only advanced nation in Southeast Asia and serves as a key hub for logistics, finance, and trade, playing a pivotal role as a gateway to the ASEAN market.

In response, Gumi City has focused on promoting the excellence of its agro-food products by launching local marketing campaigns under the "G-FOOD (Gum Food)" brand, aligning with the K-food trend.

This year, Gumi City more than doubled its budget for supporting overseas expansion of agricultural and food products, increasing it from 295 million won last year to 637 million won. Of this, 150 million won has been allocated to the trade mission project, with a concentrated focus on identifying buyers and supporting local promotional events.

Additionally, the city is simultaneously implementing projects to strengthen export capabilities in various areas, including enhancing export brand competitiveness, ensuring product safety, and developing traditional foods.

Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "With the dispatch of this trade mission to Singapore, the competitiveness of Gumi's agro-food products will shine even brighter in the ASEAN market," adding, "We will continue to provide tailored export support that delivers practical assistance on the ground."

Through this initiative, Gumi City is expected to establish a foothold for targeting the ASEAN market centered on Singapore and further accelerate efforts to enhance the global competitiveness of local agro-food products.
