On May 16, Hana Financial Group announced that it held the launch event for the '2025 Hana Power On Innovative Companies Internship' at its Myeongdong headquarters, a program designed to connect social innovation companies with individuals from vulnerable employment groups.
The event was attended by Han Youngju, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, Kim Minseok, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, Jung Seungguk, President of the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, as well as representatives of social innovation companies and participating interns, totaling more than 100 attendees.
The launch event featured an introduction to the 2025 internship program, congratulatory video messages from former interns who have transitioned to full-time positions through the program, and pledges from new interns. In addition, exhibition booths were set up to promote participating social innovation companies and their products.
Han Youngju, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, stated, "I hope that this internship program for job creation will serve as an important opportunity for job seekers to find 'my job' and, through that, to create their 'tomorrow.' Hana Financial Group will continue to take the lead so that both job seekers and innovative companies can grow together."
Through the '2025 Hana Power On Innovative Companies Internship,' Hana Financial Group plans to provide high-quality, customized internship opportunities to both participating companies and interns by expanding the types of internship participants and enhancing support programs.
In particular, the types of eligible interns have been expanded this year. In addition to existing groups such as people with disabilities, women with career breaks, and young adults, the program now includes "new seniors" (those in their 50s and 60s). Hana Financial Group has decided to actively support reemployment for the middle-aged and older generations, as well as provide work experience opportunities across a wider age range.
Furthermore, support for this year's interns has been strengthened. In addition to salaries, participants can receive up to 300,000 KRW per month in support, including: 150,000 KRW per month for customized growth support such as obtaining certifications, health management, and mentoring; 100,000 KRW per month for self-development support for small business owner family participants; 300,000 KRW per month for child education expenses for women with career breaks from large families; one common competency training session per month; and up to two customized special lectures per month by internship type, as part of a systematic practical adaptation program.
Hana Financial Group will not only support three months of internship salaries for social innovation companies participating in the program, but will also provide an additional two months of salary support for those who transition to full-time positions, actively helping to create stable jobs.
Since 2018, Hana Financial Group has consistently operated innovative company internship programs to create jobs. The program was significantly expanded in 2022, and by 2024, a total of 705 social innovation companies and 705 job seekers had been matched, providing work experience opportunities through internships. This year, the program aims to connect 230 innovative companies with job seekers, supporting the growth of both companies and interns.
Last year, out of 270 interns who participated in the program, 187 (69.2%) transitioned to full-time positions, and 193 companies (71.4%) reapplied for this year's program, indicating high satisfaction among both innovative companies and interns.
Additionally, the 'Hana Power On Innovative Companies Internship' received the 'Minister of Employment and Labor Award for Promoting the Growth of Social Enterprises' at the '2024 Social Enterprise Commemoration Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in November last year, recognizing the group's efforts to create social value.
Furthermore, Hana Financial Group is actively engaged in job creation projects for various generations, including 'Hana Social Venture University,' which fosters young entrepreneurs in collaboration with 30 major universities nationwide; 'Hana ESG Double Impact Matching Fund,' which supports startups with job creation capabilities and eco-friendly technologies; and 'Hana Power On Second Life,' which supports reemployment for experienced "new senior" professionals.
