Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the completion ceremony for the Mangwon-dong Shelter Redevelopment Project held at the Mangwon-dong Shelter (517-1 Mangwon-dong) on the afternoon of May 16.
The Mangwon-dong Shelter has long been loved by local residents, along with the history of the nearby Mangwon-dong World Cup Market. However, as time passed, the facility became outdated. In response, Mapo District undertook a redevelopment project to transform the shelter into a more pleasant and comfortable space.
In particular, the newly created outdoor stage and lawn through this renovation are expected to be used for small-scale performances or serve as a space where residents can stop by and relax.
This event was attended by approximately 50 people, including Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo District, Baek Namhwan, Chairman of the Mapo District Council, relevant public officials, and local residents. The ceremony began with a progress report from the head of the Parks and Green Spaces Department, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative photo session, and an on-site tour.
Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo District, stated, "I hope that the completion of the Mangwon-dong Shelter will bring new vitality to the market," and added, "Mapo District will continue to listen to the voices of residents and do our best for both residents and merchants."
