On May 16, Hwang Hyunseon, Secretary General of the Innovation Party, made public Cho's prison letter through his Facebook account. In the letter, Cho wrote, "I greet you as the lead actor in the documentary film Meeting Again, Cho Kuk, which was released on the 14th. Since I am incarcerated, I am unable to watch the film. However, those who have seen it have sent me their reviews, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that it is unexpectedly entertaining, which made me smile."

Cho explained, "Meeting Again, Cho Kuk is a sequel to My Country, Cho Kuk, which was released in 2022. While My Country, Cho Kuk dealt with the pain and trials of Cho Kuk being hunted, I understand that Meeting Again, Cho Kuk highlights Cho Kuk fighting alongside the public, expressing public outrage."

He continued, "If I were outside, I would have attended the Q&A sessions with the audience, which is regrettable. Still, I believe such an opportunity will come. Until then, I hope many people will watch the film. The real lead actors of this movie are all of you, the people."

He added, "Just as the title of the film suggests, I look forward to the day we meet again. When that day comes, I, too, will visit the cinema."

The film reportedly covers Cho's journey from his tenure as Minister of Justice in the Moon Jae-in administration, during which he pursued prosecutorial reform, to the founding of the Innovation Party in March last year, and his rise to become the leader of the third-largest party in the National Assembly after the April general election. It also documents the period from December 3 of last year, when former President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law, to April 4, when President Yoon was removed from office.

In December of last year, Cho was sentenced to two years in prison by the Supreme Court on charges including academic admission irregularities involving his children, and he is currently serving his sentence. Since then, Cho has continued his political activities from prison by sending letters and contributing opinion pieces to the media, releasing messages on current issues such as the 12·3 martial law and the early presidential election.

Meanwhile, the Innovation Party has declared its support for Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party candidate, instead of fielding its own candidate in this presidential election, and is focusing on activities for prosecutorial and judicial reform.
