The prosecution, which is investigating various allegations involving Jeon Seongbae, also known as 'Geonjin Beopsa', and former President Yoon Sukyeol and his wife, has conducted a search and seizure targeting a former aide to First Lady Kim Keonhee.
According to legal sources on May 16, the Virtual Asset Crime Joint Investigation Unit of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, led by Chief Prosecutor Park Geonuk, recently searched the residence of Mr. Cho, a former administrator in the Presidential Office's Second Aide Office who was responsible for Kim Keonhee's protocol.
The prosecution is investigating allegations that Yoon, the former worldwide head of the Unification Church, delivered gifts to Kim Keonhee through Jeon, while making various requests. This search and seizure appears to be aimed at locating items such as a diamond necklace and luxury bags that are believed to have been delivered to Kim Keonhee.
Previously, on April 30, the prosecution also searched Kim Keonhee's residence at Acro Vista in Seocho-dong, Seoul, the office of Covana Contents, which she operated, and the homes of two former Covana Contents employees who served as her aides.
At that time, the search and seizure warrant reportedly specified requests from Yoon, including support for the Unification Church's Mekong River development project in Cambodia, the acquisition of YTN by the Unification Church, the hosting of the United Nations Fifth Secretariat in Korea, and invitations to the presidential inauguration ceremony.
However, it is reported that the prosecution was unable to secure most of the physical evidence specified in the search and seizure warrant.
