At around 12:50 p.m. on May 16, a van and a 25-ton dump truck collided head-on on National Road No. 20 in Dojeon-ri, Saengbiryang-myeon, Sancheong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to the police, the van, which was traveling from Uiryeong-gun toward Sinan-myeon, Sancheong-gun, crossed the center line for an unknown reason and collided with the oncoming dump truck.
As a result of the accident, the male driver of the van, who was in his 60s, died, and a female passenger in her 50s who was in the vehicle with him was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital.
The male driver of the truck, who was in his 50s, also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Due to the impact of the collision, the dump truck overturned to the right.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
