As heavy rain falls across the country, a heavy rain advisory has been issued for all regions except the southeastern part of Seoul.
As of 5:00 p.m. on May 16, the Korea Meteorological Administration issued a heavy rain advisory for the northeastern, northwestern, and southwestern parts of Seoul, as well as for Pocheon in Gyeonggi Province.
The areas under the advisory include Dobong-gu, Nowon-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Seongbuk-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Jungnang-gu, Seongdong-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Eunpyeong-gu, Jongno-gu, Mapo-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Jung-gu, Yongsan-gu, Gangseo-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Guro-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Dongjak-gu, Gwanak-gu, Geumcheon-gu, and Pocheon in Gyeonggi Province.
A heavy rain advisory is issued when rainfall is expected to reach 60mm or more in three hours, or 110mm or more in twelve hours. Caution is advised due to the risk of accidents such as flooding of valleys and rivers.
The heavy rain advisory remains in effect for the northeastern and northwestern parts of Seoul.
