About 40 family members attended the rally. The families claimed, "The embankment for the azimuth guidance facility, which was the direct cause of the disaster, was constructed to be even more solid, despite international standards requiring it to be designed to break easily. These standards were ignored."
They further pointed out, "Although the airport was built in a migratory bird habitat, proper management and training were not implemented."
The families also mentioned the repeated defect issues of the aircraft model involved in the accident. They said, "This aircraft has experienced several incidents in the past where the fan blade broke," and added, "It is necessary to investigate whether Jeju Air properly conducted maintenance and inspections."
In addition, they demanded, "The Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board must immediately disclose the communication records between the control tower and the pilots, as well as the black box data, to the families of the victims, and sincerely inform them about the progress of the accident investigation."
They stated, "We will not stand by as Jeju Air sent mail demanding a final settlement from the families even before the investigation began," and declared, "We will not stop until the truth is revealed."
