Ms. A is accused of attempting to forcibly open an emergency exit on a Korean Air passenger plane flying from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, United States, to Incheon Airport at around 2:50 a.m. on the same day.
It has been determined that she showed signs of anxiety and tried to open the emergency exit about one hour and forty minutes before the plane's arrival, but was stopped by the flight attendants. Police escorted Ms. A for questioning upon her arrival at Incheon Airport, conducted a preliminary drug test, and allowed her to return home after the results came back negative for narcotics.
A police official stated, "We plan to request a detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service to determine whether Ms. A used any drugs," adding, "We will further investigate the specific circumstances of the incident."
