Jimin (real name Park Jimin) and Jungkook (real name Jeon Jungkook), members of the group BTS, both received awards at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards, a major American popular music awards ceremony.
According to the official BMI website on May 16, both artists were selected as winners in the "Most Performed Songs of the Year" category at the ceremony held on May 13 (local time). This category recognizes the top 50 songs that were most played in the United States over the past year across radio, TV, live performances, and digital platforms; this year, a total of 51 songs were included.
Jimin won with the title track "Like Crazy" from his first solo album "FACE" and the title track "Who" from his second album "MUSE." "Like Crazy" became the first song by a K-pop solo artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart in 2023. "Who" set a record for the longest-charting K-pop solo song by remaining on the Hot 100 for 33 consecutive weeks.
Jungkook was recognized for his solo single "3D" (feat. Jack Harlow) and the title track "Standing Next to You" from his first solo album "GOLDEN." Both songs entered the top 10 of the Hot 100 chart, demonstrating his global popularity. Jungkook has now been selected as a winner in this category for three consecutive years, following "Left and Right," his 2023 collaboration with Charlie Puth, and "Seven" in 2024.
The BMI Pop Awards, hosted annually by BMI, a U.S. music copyright management organization founded in 1939, honors artists, composers, and music publishers who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in the pop music field. The awards are regarded as a measure of influence within the American music market.
