"Let's Achieve 2 Trillion Dollars in Overseas Construction Early" Public-Private-Academic Forum

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation, and the International Contractors Association of Korea held a grand forum on the early achievement of 2 trillion dollars in overseas construction orders on the 16th. Experts from related industries, academia, and relevant organizations attended the event.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of Korea's overseas construction industry. As of last year, the cumulative value of overseas construction orders reached 1 trillion dollars. This is the third largest amount, following semiconductors and automobiles, which are Korea's main export products.

The forum was organized to review past achievements and discuss future strategies for reaching the 2 trillion dollar milestone. Participants also exchanged opinions on overseas expansion strategies, including domestic and international trends in investment development projects and best practices in urban development projects.

Park Sangwoo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated, "To achieve the new goal of 2 trillion dollars in overseas construction orders at an early date, we will establish strategies to expand into various fields such as urban development, high-speed rail, and investment development projects, and we will spare no policy support for our companies."
