Joint Inspection Team Operates Until the 30th
Focus on Use of Expired Food Ingredients and More
Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province announced that, due to the recent rise in temperatures and the increasing number of visitors, the risk of food poisoning has become higher. In response, the county will conduct intensive inspections of food establishments around tourist attractions until May 30.
The county will form a joint inspection team with the Special Judicial Police Team of South Chungcheong Province’s cities and counties. The inspections will focus on the following: whether businesses are operating without permits or have failed to report changes, the state of hygiene management inside workplaces, the use or storage of food ingredients past their expiration date, and compliance with refrigeration and freezing standards for raw materials and finished products.
For minor violations discovered during the inspections, corrective measures will be taken on-site. For serious violations, the county plans to impose strong administrative actions in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Kim Hyunki, head of the county’s Safety Management Division, stated, "Through this joint inspection, we will provide safe food to both residents and tourists visiting Hongseong," and urged, "Restaurants and food delivery businesses near tourist attractions should also remain vigilant about food safety management."
