K3AI Accelerates Physical AI... "Conducting Robot Tests"

K3AI has recently begun implementing robot simulation on its own platform, Neuro Twin X, which is integrated with NVIDIA's Omniverse. The company is now moving forward with full-scale verification work to enable the application of real robots in virtual environments.

On May 16, K3AI announced that it is conducting tests within Neuro Twin X based on actual operating environments, including industrial robot scenarios.

K3AI is currently performing various robot tests within Neuro Twin X, which accurately replicates physical environments in digital form. These tests involve processing a range of data inputs, including LiDAR, RGB-D cameras, IoT (Internet of Things) sensors, and text. In addition to multimodal-based virtual perception simulations, the company plans to implement features such as adjusting environmental variables like sensor noise, path planning, task repetition and error response, and interference detection with human operators. These will be achieved through tests that incorporate real-world physical factors such as gravity and friction.

K3AI intends to further advance its platform by leveraging its domestically commercialized XR (Extended Reality) middleware, which supports sensor fusion-based perception technology and interactive functions. The proprietary XR middleware not only collects and interprets sensor data from devices such as LiDAR and cameras but also enables precise interactions within XR environments by linking with output devices. The company explained that this technology will be used to integrate the entire value chain?from data collection and industrial metaverse implementation and operation to visualization and analysis of simulation results.

Recently, K3AI began developing its own platform, Neuro Twin X, integrated with NVIDIA's Omniverse, in order to strengthen new growth engines in addition to its stable XR content business. Through its proprietary platform, K3AI is entering the physical artificial intelligence (AI) market and expanding the application scope of XR technology, which has primarily been used in fields such as education and tourism.

A K3AI representative stated, "Our goal is to rapidly implement multimodal-based robot functions on our proprietary platform by leveraging our technological capabilities and the global versatility of NVIDIA's Omniverse. Through this, we aim not only to diversify the application areas of Korea's leading 3D modeling and simulation technologies but also to strengthen our overseas expansion, backed by technology that has been validated by major global corporations."

He added, "We plan to complete robot-related testing in the first half of the year and begin demonstration tests with robots in the second half. Starting with manufacturing references, we will apply metaverse infrastructure to industrial sites. In addition to industrial robots, we will further advance our platform-related technologies with humanoids and other types, aiming to become a leading company in Korea's industrial metaverse infrastructure."
