On May 16, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced that it will operate an 'Agricultural and Specialty Products Sales Venue' during the 15th Gokseong World Rose Festival, which runs until May 25.

This sales venue, located at the Rose Farm Market booth within the festival grounds, will feature 20 leading farms and businesses from Gokseong. They will showcase 92 different products, including melons, dried persimmons, cherry tomatoes, free-range eggs, Makgeolli, cheese, yogurt, and more.

The venue will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, and extended until 7:00 p.m. on weekends. It will operate as a direct transaction market where producers and consumers can meet face-to-face. Notably, in cooperation with the post office, a free shipping service will also be available, allowing visitors to send their purchases anywhere nationwide at no cost. Through these efforts, the county aims to enhance visitor convenience, promote the excellence of local agricultural products, and contribute to the actual income growth of local farmers.

Last year, the county achieved approximately 100 million KRW in sales. This year, Gokseong plans to combine both online and offline sales to reach more consumers, further increase sales, and elevate the brand value of local agricultural products.

In particular, in conjunction with the May Companion Festival hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, an 'On-site Live Commerce' event will be held for two days on May 17 and 18. This live commerce broadcast, which will take place on the outdoor stage on the second floor of the Train Village Platform, will connect with consumers nationwide in real time via Naver Shopping Live's 'Sodam Square Gwangju'.

Eight local farms will participate in the event, offering 21 products such as taro pie, black pork Tteokgalbi, yogurt, freshwater eel, and black glutinous corn at discounts of up to 60%. The broadcast will be streamed live twice, at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

A county official stated, "This will be an opportunity for producers and consumers to become even closer through both on-site and online sales," adding, "It is significant in that it allows us to introduce Gokseong's healthy food not only to tourists visiting the Rose Festival, but also to online consumers."
