The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on May 16 that it had invited Dr. Jo Pyungkyu, an expert on China, to deliver a special lecture at the 1,685th Friday Breakfast Forum under the theme "Strategies for Korean Companies Entering the Chinese Market."
The special lecture, held on the third floor convention hall of the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel, focused on the U.S.-China tariff war under the Trump administration's second term and future strategies for entering the Chinese market.
The forum was attended by Huang Huang and Xue Zhibo, Deputy Consuls General from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Gwangju, as well as the President and Vice President of the Korea Yunnan Business Association. After the lecture, participants had tea time with the speakers, during which they addressed questions about entering the Chinese market.
The forum covered topics including: recognizing the Chinese market as an extension of the Korean market; the direction of China's economy in 2025; the U.S.-China tariff war; the outlook for China's capital market in 2025; the Chinese market as a battlefield for professionals; reasons for entering China; strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises entering China; strategies for entering major Chinese cities; and key strategies for success in China. Dr. Jo emphasized, "If you do not have a differentiated competitive edge compared to Chinese companies, it is better to withdraw."
Yang Jinseok, Chairman of the Gwangju Employers Federation, said, "This was a great opportunity for member company CEOs and participants to explore ways to enter the Chinese market and engage in active exchanges," adding, "To survive in China, you need differentiated technology, design, and marketing capabilities."
