Hansung Cleantec succeeded in returning to profitability in its first quarter results for 2025.
On May 16, Hansung Cleantec announced that, on a separate basis, it recorded sales of 30 billion KRW and an operating profit of 500 million KRW in the first quarter. On a consolidated basis, it reported sales of 46.9 billion KRW and an operating profit of 1.9 billion KRW.
The company had previously experienced a temporary downturn in performance due to a sharp contraction in investments in downstream industries in the previous year, delays in contracted projects, and cost volatility. A company representative stated, "We have been restructuring our business model by implementing process optimization in phases and focusing on securing profitability by eliminating uncertainties since last year. As a result, we succeeded in turning a profit in the first quarter of this year."
The representative added, "Despite the challenging market conditions last year, our focus on strengthening technological competitiveness and restructuring the cost structure of projects led to improved results this quarter. In particular, new project orders focused on profitability, especially from major clients in downstream industries, are gradually gaining momentum."
As a result, expectations for future performance are rising. This is because the government's ongoing 'Yongin Semiconductor Cluster' development project is entering full swing, which is expected to drive a surge in demand for industrial water facilities essential to semiconductor manufacturing processes.
The company further explained that, as a key participant in national localization projects and a strong small-to-medium enterprise with ultrapure water EPC achievements for leading domestic semiconductor companies such as SK Siltron, it is well-positioned to benefit from related projects in the future.
Additionally, through its wholly owned subsidiary EN Water Solution, the company is securing stable profitability in the treatment of high-concentration liquid waste for advanced industries such as semiconductors. Its new resource-circulation business, which recovers high-value-added resources such as 'fluorite' and 'ammonium sulfate' from waste liquids, is also progressing smoothly.
A company representative stated, "With the recovery of downstream industries, we expect to improve profitability based on our technological capabilities and references," and added, "We aim to establish ourselves as a company recognized for its intrinsic value in the market through continuous performance improvement."
