The Chungnam Social Service Institute announced on May 16 that a ceremony commemorating Youth Month in Chungnam Province was held at Mona Valley in Asan.
The ceremony was organized to encourage the healthy growth and independence of youth in the province, and to recognize individuals who have contributed to youth policies and field practices.
With around 100 attendees, including award recipients and their families, a total of 19 Chungnam Provincial Governor's Commendations (13 for exemplary youth and 6 for contributors to youth development) and 4 Chungnam Provincial Council Chairperson's Commendations (2 for exemplary youth and 2 for contributors to youth development) were presented.
The youth commendations recognized individuals who set an example for others in six categories: health, emotion, courage, manners, cooperation, and pride.
For the grand prize, Jo Arang from Cheongyang High School and 14 other youths who contributed to the development of the local community received the Chungnam Provincial Governor's Commendation.
The contributors to youth development included both civilians and public officials who helped create a youth-friendly environment by promoting youth rights, supporting youth activities, and improving harmful environments. Jang Hanseok from the Cheonan City Office of Education and Youth, along with five others, received the Chungnam Provincial Governor's Commendation.
Park Jeongju, Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of Chungnam Province, stated, "This ceremony, held under the slogan 'Youth Dreams Take the Stage!', is an opportunity to reflect on Youth Month in May. We will do our best to support the growth and future of our youth and to make Chungnam a province where youth are respected."
